Foreign companies seeking to participate in commodity trading in Turkmenistan must register with the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan and submit documents confirming their legal status, according to registration requirements published by the exchange.
The registration process includes a review by the exchange’s financial monitoring department, which verifies information provided by applicants and assesses it in relation to the company’s business activities and transactions.
For foreign legal entities, the required documents include an application addressed to the chairman of the exchange, copies of the company’s charter and any amendments, a current extract from the relevant corporate registry dated 2026, and a completed questionnaire for legal entities.
Copies of corporate documents and the registry extract must be certified either by a notary or by a consular service. The two forms of certification are accepted for registration purposes. Notarial certification is generally the faster option, according to the information provided for applicants.
Companies must also submit translations of their documents into Turkmen, the country’s official language. The translations must be certified by a translation bureau.
Separate forms and document requirements apply to individual entrepreneurs. The exchange provides application and questionnaire forms for both legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
Applicants can submit documents electronically through a personal account on the exchange’s website. The system allows companies to enter the required information, upload documents and access application forms and templates.
The electronic process also provides an opportunity for preliminary review. Documents can be submitted for an initial check before the package is finalized, allowing applicants to correct errors or address discrepancies identified by financial monitoring specialists.
Companies may also complete the process in person through an authorized representative in Turkmenistan. The representative must have a power of attorney from the company and provide a copy of their passport. Documents can then be submitted directly at the exchange.
The exchange also allows applicants using the in-person procedure to have their documents reviewed before final submission.
Information on fees and applicable tariffs is available on the official website of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
